On any long-distance drive through Italy (such as the drive from Rome to Sorrento on our Amalfi Coast Extension), you are bound to experience the Autogrill. It’s the Italian version of a rest stop or truck stop, but much nicer and cleaner. You can get fast food or a nice sit down, home-style meal. A coffee bar is also available, as well as a shop with gifts, books, wine, cookies, candy, and other grocery or toiletry items. Everything you need to get you on your way!
Per Wikipedia, “Autogrill is an Italian-based, multinational catering and retail company, the world's largest in the travel dining sector, which is controlled with a 59% stake by the Edizione Holding investment vehicle of the Benetton family. Autogrill runs operations in 40 different countries, primarily in Europe and North America, with over 250 licensed and proprietary brands. Over 90% of the company's business derives from outlets in airport terminals and motorway service areas.”
