You really can’t go wrong with any seafood served in Venice. Preparation is pretty simple, and the Venetians have it down to an art: a dab of butter here, a splash of lemon there, a few herbs for flavor, and maybe a dusting of breadcrumbs.
If your grandmother were Venetian, these are the dishes she would probably serve you in her home on special occasions.
You might also want to start out with a typical pasta called bigoli, a sort of long, thin pasta with a hole in the middle. This is served with an anchovies and onions. Or try the classic Pesce Fritto Misto, deep-fried shrimp and calamari.
