Tuscany & Artisan Goat Cheese

The dramatic beauty of the Tuscan countryside changes with the seasons. The terrain is dotted with spiraling Cyprus trees, acres of vineyards, and rustic, yet noble farmhouses.

In addition to Cinta Senese pigs, goats are also a popular herd in this region, where traditional, organic methods are used to produce artisanal goat cheese. Of course, Italy is one of the world’s leading producers of cheese or “formaggio,” and cheese is an important part of the economy.

Goats are pretty curious by nature, and always getting into trouble. They’re really fun, though. They have great personalities – and make great cheese! They are labor intensive, but connoisseurs of good living here know it's the only way to go.
