Our Great Cities Tour begins upon your arrival into Marco Polo Airport, also known as Venice International Airport. More than likely, you will have already touched down in another city and gone through Immigration.
Marco Polo is a fairly new airport, sitting on the mainland right alongside the waters of the Venetian lagoon.
Landing at this airport is quite scenic, as planes generally descend over the Venetian lagoon, with splendid views of Venice. Planes coming in to land usually fly northwards over Venice. So here’s a hint: sitting on the right-hand side of the plane will give you the best chance of admiring the city.
