Watching the World Go By Since 1720

The CafĂ© Florian in Venice’s Piazza San Marco was one of the first places in Europe to serve coffee, in 1720 to be exact! Most Italians have one bar they frequent every day. It's there where they meet up with their friends, talk sports and politics. It's where they start their day, and often end it.

Italians have coffee first thing in the morning, typically espresso or cappuccino, have it after lunch, perhaps a quick shot during the work day, then one after dinner before taking the ritual "passeggiata" or stroll through the city center.

So, grab a coffee and a chair, and watch the world go by in the perfect setting of San Marco Square.
