Mother Nature and Her Unpredictable Ways!

Well, we were hit by a blizzard over the weekend, which made getting to work a little challenging today, but almost everyone made it in today! In spite of the snow, it's a beautiful, sunny day here in the Mile High City, which makes getting out in the snow just a little more bearable!

We heard from our Tour Captain Janette Tepas this morning, who begins the season's round of tours today in Italy. She writes: "Hi,all, Made it to Venice. Have met some of our guests, not all yet. Been raining, but I ordered sun for us and it was a lovely sunny, cool day. Went around with our guest, Deborah today. Will meet all tomorrow. Ciao for now! Janette." Thank you, Janette, for leading us off to what I know will be a great start to the 2013 tour season in Italy and beyond!

Speaking of weather, blizzards and all, reminds me that we always encourage our guests to take out travel cancellation insurance. You just never know when that's going to come in handy! An example is several years ago when the volcano went off over Iceland; we had one client who didn't heed our advice to take the travel insurance. When the volcano went off, his flights were cancelled, and he bailed out of his trip. He demanded that we pay him back for his trip, but as you can imagine, we've already paid vendors for their services, so we cannot just pay someone back because their trip has been interruped by a force of nature. Had he only taken our advice, offered over and over again, he could have been fully reimbursed and/or simply rescheduled his trip. This drives home the point of always being prepared for unforeseen circumstances that are beyond our control!
