Twas the Night before Italy Tour...

I'm in Venice. Alone. And though I'm trying hard not to let that bother me this time...alas, missing my Wife and Baby have been quite the ordeal. So, I remind myself in an effort to change the subject...I'm in Venice! 

I arrived at the train station after cruising up from Rome via the Eurostar. Nice experience, simple and effective. Taking the 6,50 euro Vaporetto (for one person and a bag) is the most economical way to get to our city centered hotel on San Marco - that is other than walking and winding through many calles, streets of water and alleys. In the summer heat and frankly, this joe didn't want to get lost so soon. Eventually but not now. So I arrive my pre-hotel hotel (a budget property also in the center) for one night before the tour group arrives.
