Even though I have visited the Hermitage Museum in Leningrad, the Prado Museum in Madrid, the Louvre in Paris, and even the Vatican Museum, there is no more elegantly-displayed museum of art which I have seen anywhere in the world. You will be bowled over with a visit to the Borghese Gallery. We went on a Tuesday afternoon. The next available tickets were not available until Friday afternoon (and this was the slower season). You must have tickets DAYS in advance, but was it worth every hassle and trouble to obtain the tickets for entrance!
