A Week in Venice

It is now official, I have been in Venice for one week. Our tour group arrived in two waves (no pun intended). The weather had threatened each day with rain and storms. The blue skies of Venice would not have it and did not yield. It has been a beautiful time for the guests and they have enjoyed the true small group Italy Tour experience that QueensLander Tours puts on. Tomorrow morning we board our Venice water taxi and head to the Venice train station where we'll board our 3 and 1/2 hour (give or take) trip to the Santa Maria Novella Train Station. We'll be staying in the Grand Hotel Baglioni in Florence. A nice hotel near the station and in the heart of old Florence.

Our guide in Venice is Cinzia and she did a stellar job again as usual. In Florence, we'll be with Dr. Susanna Burrichi, a professor and award winning local guide for QueensLander Tours. We are excited to see her and tour Firenze. The Ponte Vecchio (meaning old bridge and the only bridge to survive World War II's bombing of the city), Duomo, Baptistery, Santa Croce, Uffizi Gallery, Galleria dell'Accademia and other sites await us. We'll also have part of our group explore on their own for the first time to Pisa via city train. Afterwards we head deep into Tuscany to the quaint Italian village of San Gimignano, then Orvieto and then on to Rome - where all roads lead.

Ciao for now!  Find out more at http://www.QueensLanderTours.com/qtt/Italy.htm
