The Costa Concordia Tragedy

I had a call yesterday from the ABC affiliate here in Denver asking about the Costa Concordia tragedy, which will no doubt go down in the annals with the likes of the Andrea Doria, also an Italian liner. The main question on the reporter's mind was whether there were any local Americans on board. I told him I was not aware of any, certainly none from any of our tours. We know now that there were at least one hundred twenty-something Americans onboard, but still none from Colorado of which we are aware.

At any rate, this tragedy brings to mind that any tour operator wants to be certain that his guests will be protected while on tour. At QueensLander Small Group Tours, we make every effort to insure that our guests will be with competent professionals who will not attempt to cut corners on safety. The safety and well-being of our guests is absolutely paramount! No question about it. I suppose, however, that sometimes mistakes and error in human judgment are just going to happen no matter what you do, and you have to be prepared for that. Just rest assured that we will always do our best to maintain the highest level of concern over the safety of our travelers, and the tragedy we've witnessed this week brings that closer to home like never before!
