Breakfast offers the opportunity to sit outside or in, depending on the weather. They have a nice variety from scrambled eggs and bacon, to yogurt, cereal, toast, etc., and the waiters in their white jackets add a sophisticated touch. If you are looking for a lively, young crowd, you won’t necessarily find it here (keep in mind this is Sorrento, not Rome!), but they do have a bar and live DJ on select nights and an area that will accommodate some light dancing if you feel so inclined. Some rooms also have balconies large enough to accommodate a few friends over for drinks and light dinner snacks if you prefer to stay in for a night. You cannot really go wrong with choosing to stay here unless it’s just not your cup of tea to begin with.

Hotel Minerva in Sorrento
I have stayed here with small groups who generally love this hotel, and it is probably one of the better hotel locations in Sorrento, with a view overlooking the Gulf of Sorrento. From the outside, it has an almost a fortress-palace type of feel, set off by its distinctive red shutters and trim. Inside, it has a bright, airy feel with a colorful but tasteful décor that lends to the relaxed atmosphere you expect from the Mediterranean. A large veranda on the main level provides a great place to sit while enjoying a drink or a coffee. The rooms are clean and spacious, also reflecting the calm, relaxed feeling one gets from the rest of the hotel. There is a pool and Jacuzzi available, but we did not make use of them.
